Twelve years ago, we held the first 5K race in memory of Sarah Ramsey, who tragically died just one year after she graduated from Champlain College, Class of 2012. We are grateful to our many supporters who have helped create a lasting legacy in honor of Sarah’s memory.

The Fund broadens our commitment to innovation and entrepreneurship in ways that exemplify Sarah’s passion and energy for thinking big and making an impact. And as the Sarah Ramsey ’12 Endowed Scholarship award celebrates its eleventh year, we are proud to continue helping Champlain students pursue internship and study abroad opportunities that provide transformational growth and development as part of their college experience (view Defy All Odds, a tribute video created in memory of Sarah).

About Us

The Sarah Ramsey Strong Fund (SRSF) was established in memory of Sarah Elizabeth Ramsey whose life was tragically cut short one year after her graduation from Champlain College, Class of ’12. 

We believe in creating opportunities for young people to explore their passions, overcome challenges and follow their hearts. Our mission is to invest in student programs that foster an environment of innovation, creativity and collaboration.

How You Can Help

Run for Sarah

Each year, we host a fun, family oriented 5K Race along Lake Champlain in honor of Sarah. Our race takes place during Champlain College Family Weekend, typically in October. We walk or run for Sarah along the Burlington Bike Path. After the race, we celebrate winners with prizes and refreshments. Can’t make the race? Join us virtually from your location.
